Analysing OASMNR / SASBA data
Behaviour over time chart
Severity (weighted, mean) line shows the weighted mean severity of submissions in each period. Calculated as follows:
The four available behaviours for each assessment type are scored 1 to 4 in the order displayed (VA, PO, PS, PP for OASMNR, and VC, NC, E, TO for SASBA)
The four available severities (1, 2, 3, and 4) are scored as named
Each submission multiplies these values together to get a weighted severity between 1 and 16
Finally, the line adds them all together for each period and divides by the number of submissions
Frequency line shows how many submissions were recorded in each period
Intervention intrusiveness line shows the mean instrusiveness value for all submissions in each period based on the following assignments to the interventions:
Aggression ignored β score 1
Closer observation β score 2
Talking to the patient β score 3
Special programme β score 4
Physical distraction β score 5
Isolation without seclusion β score 6
Holding patient β score 7
Immediate medication given by mouth β score 8
Seclusion β score 9
Use of other restraints β score 10
Immediate medication given by injection β score 11
Granularity dropdown sets how many datapoints show in the chart
Key events button allows you to annotate timestamps on the graph. This can be useful to highlight how changes in care affect the behavioural lines.
